Three out of 17 Schools Closed down due to Bandits Attack Re-opens in Niger

Three out of the seventeen schools that have been closed down due to incessant bandit attacks in Shiroro Local Government Council of Niger state were re opened for effective teaching and learning.

Council Chairman Alh Akilu Isiyaku Kuta said this while addressing some secondary school students in the area whose JAMB and WEAC examination fees were paid by the Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District Senator Mohammed Sani Musa held at Kuta headquarters of Shiroro local government council.

Alh Akilu Isiyaku Kuta explained that of the three schools that were re opened two of them are from Kalkogo ward and another one from Rumachi ward while one school is waiting for approval from the Council Chairman to be re opened.

He however commended the law maker for redeeming the pledge he made for the release of one hundred million naira to women and youth in Shiroro local government council to be used for educational support empowerment and entrepreneurship.

According to the Chairman such are the kind of support people of Shiroro Local Government Council required especially due to problems of banditry that had forced many communities to desert their schools and homes to relocate to some IDP camps and other neighbouring Local Governments for safety.

Also speaking Chairman Coalition of Shiroro Associations COSA Comrade Usman Ibrahim Kuta said out of the Senator Sani Musa one hundred million naira about thirty million naira was used for the payment of JAMB and WAEC for over one thousand three hundred students from Shiroro and Munya Local Government Councils of Niger state while more are expected to benefit.

In their seperate remarks the President National Association of Shiroro Students Comrade Mansur Sanda Umar and Coordinator National Youth Council of Nigeria Shiroro Chapter Comrade Alhassan Uba Ibrahim said although the money is meant for Shiroro alone but out of brotherhood between them and Munya local government council coupled with uncommon sagacity of Comrade Yakubu Garba Munya was allowed to benefit from it.

A student from Bodo Secondary School Kuta Shukrah Ismail who could not hide her joy thanked Senator Sani Musa for the gesture and appealed to the Federal and Niger state governments to come to their aid as regards to security challenges bedeviling them.
