Practice Teachings Of The Prophet – Cleric Urges Muslims

A call has been made to Muslim Ummah to ensure they practice the teachings and lessons in the migration of Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him from Mecca to Madina.

The Chief Imam of Muslims Foundation Jumuat Mosque GRA Gusau Dr Tukur Sani Jangebe made the call in an interview with newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.

He said The Islamic calendar, is 12 months: Muḥarram, Ṣafar, Rabīʿ al-Awwal, Rabīʿ al-Thānī, Jumādā al-Awwal, Jumādā al-Thānī, Rajab, Shaʿbān, Ramaḍān (the month of fasting), Shawwāl, Dhū al-Qaʿdah, and Dhū al-Ḥijjah.

The months alternate 30 and 29 days except for the 12th, Dhū al-Ḥijjah, the length of which is varied in a 30-year cycle intended to keep the calendar in step with the true phases of the moon.

The Chief Imam advised Muslims to pray for peace and stability to prevail in Zamfara State, northern region and the country at large.

He also called for unity among Muslim Ummah as well as to redouble their efforts in worshipping Almighty Allah alone and to practice the teachings and doctrines of Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him.

Dr Jangebe further warned Muslims against witchunting and backbiting which he described as a stumbling block towards the development of any society.

He attributed the recent calamities circulating among humanities such as robbery, banditry, kidnapping, ramson and the rest to lack of obedience to Almighty God and called on people to repent to Almighty God.

The Chief Imam who also double as the state commissioner for religious affairs appealed to Muslim Ummah to ensure they elect credible leaders in the forth coming 2023 general election.
