House of Representatives has reassured the Nigeria Police of its determination to develop policies that will support the force for efficiency and effectiveness.

Chairman House Committee on Police, Alh Usman Bello Kumo made this known in Abuja, at a meeting between the committee and the police management team.

Alh. Bello Kumo, while stressing the importance of professionalism in securing a nation, said the committee and the House would continue to collaborate with the Police in line with the 9th Legislative Agenda.

Responding, Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali, said the interaction would allow both sides to come up with modalities for effective policing as the nation continued to experience a security crisis.

Usman Alkali, also noted that with the various strategies being put in place by the new police leadership under his watch, the cases of insecurity ravaging the country would soon be history.

He assured the 9th Assembly of the Police force reeadiness to partner the house in an effort to Nigeria a hitch free crime nation.
