Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has flagged off a training course for the newly recruited 1,056 Community Police Constables to strengthen internal security architecture in the state.
Speaking during the flag off of the programme in Ilorin, AbdulRazaq said the kickoff of the initiative was long due.
He urged residents of the state to always volunteer timely information and support the police to burst criminal networks before they carry out their unlawful activities.
According to him, the success of the community policing depends on the society full backing.
AbdulRazaq tasked the new constables on discipline and commitment to duties.
In his address, the Commissioner of Police Kwara State Command, Mohammed Lawal-Bagega, said the initiative was intended to enhance successes recorded in the fight against crime across the state.
