El-Zakzaky: Proceedings Adjourned As Prosecution Prepares To Close Case

The trial of the leader of Islamic movement of Nigeria, Sheik Ibrahim El Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat has been adjourned to the thirty first of this month.

At the resumed hearing of the case, three witnesses out of four including a Commissioner of Police and an expert were examined by the prosecution.

Solicitor General of Kaduna State, Mr Chris Umar confirmed that all exhibits tendered by the prosecution were admitted by the court and they hope to close their case by the next adjourned date to enable the defendants enter their defence.

Speaking to newsmen, Counsel to the defendants, Mr Femi Falana argued that the exhibits tendered so far by the prosecution were not strong enough to prove any case against his clients.

Mr. Femi Falana confirmed that a different suit would be initiated to ascertain those responsible for the death of some members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria.
