The President of the Kaduna Baptist Conference, Reverend Dr. Ishaya Jangado, has urged Christians to embrace positive changes, creativity and teamwork as essential ingredients for spiritual and material progress.
Rev. Dr. Jangado made the call during a special Sunday service held at the New Estate Baptist Church (NEBC), Kaduna, on Sunday, September 20, 2026, where he preached on the theme of newness, drawing his message from Isaiah 43:18–19.
The Baptist Conference President said God desires to bring new and favourable things into the lives of His people, but Christians must be willing to leave behind sinful habits and embrace a new life in Christ.
He reminded the congregation that anyone who accepts Christ becomes a new creation and must demonstrate the transformation through their character, conduct and relationship with others.
Reverend Dr. Jangado also challenged Christians to examine the “attire” of their spiritual lives, explaining that the clothes people wear could symbolically represent their sinful characters, habits and attitudes.
He urged members of the church to learn from people who are successful in life rather than becoming angry, jealous or resentful of their achievements.
According to him, those seeking to experience newness and progress must be creative, adding that families aspiring to succeed should work together as a team.
“Everyone you see in the church is important; it is only that their time has not yet come,” he told the congregation, encouraging members to recognise and support one another.
The Kaduna Baptist Conference President also appealed to Christians to support the clergy and make sacrifices towards their welfare, stressing the need for greater commitment to the work of God.
Revend Dr. Jangado, who previously served at Shiloh Baptist Church, Kaduna, was also noted for his contribution to church growth, having planted about 17 churches during his service there.
In his remarks, the Pastor of New Estate Baptist Church, Rev. Andrew Buru, appreciated members of the congregation for attending the special service and urged them to live exemplary lives that would positively reflect the teachings of the church in the wider society.
