New officials to run the affairs of the Niger state Estate Agent Association for a four year term have been elected with a called on them to desist from acts capable of undermining the continued development of the union.
Newly elected President of the Association, Alh Musa Isah Kuchi who made the call in his acceptance speech at the Niger Sport Commission premises in Minna, said he will work towards uniting it’s members to attain greater height, in addition to sensitise them on professionalism.
Alh Musa Isah Kuchi explained that he will also introduce a new revalidation for members with security details that would provide NIN, Guarantor and next of kin among others as well as partner with security agencies and traditional rulers to fish bad eggs among it’s members.
He said out of the over three thousand members spread across the twenty five Local Government Areas only one hundred and ninety eight were validated and eligible for election, thus the need for validation of members, and identified inadequate funds as major factor militating against speedy development of the Association, saying that they will partner with relevant government agencies to address those problems.
Announcing the results, Chairman Electoral Committee, Mr Andy Godiya said the exercise was peaceful and transparent, in which Alh Musa Isah Kuchi was declared winner by scoring one hundred and twelve votes, to defeat Isa Mohammed who polled thirty seven votes while the position of Vice President went to Ibrahim Garba that scored one hundred and nine votes to defeat Bala Ibrahim that got thirty four votes.
Other positions that were declared unopposed include,Treasurer Abdullahi Suleiman, p r o Mahmud Abdullahi, Secretary Musa Yunusa, Women Leader Fatima Bello Jummai and Organizing Secretary Abubakar Garba Nakaka among others.
Also speaking Organizing Secretary of the Association, Alh Abubakar Garba Nakaka thanked members for conducting themselves in an orderly manner that led to the conduct of free, fair and credible election.
