The Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commended Governor Uba Sani for appointing seasoned media professionals into key positions in his latest round of appointments, describing the gesture as a testament to his administration’s recognition of competence, professionalism, and the critical role of the media in governance.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Council Secretary, Comrade Gambo Santos Sanga (Kakakin Ninzo), says the appointments of Binta Saidu, Aminu Mohammed Gusau and Aminu Nasiru Jasawa have been widely welcomed by members of the journalism profession across the state.

The statement noted that Aminu Mohammed Gusau, a staff member of Nagarta Radio Kaduna, was appointed as Senior Special Assistant on Policy Communication, while Aminu Nasiru Jasawa, a pioneer staff member of Spider FM, was named Special Assistant on New Media.

It added that Binta Saidu, formerly of Ray Power FM, was appointed as a Board Member of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).

According to the Council, the three appointees are accomplished media professionals who have distinguished themselves through years of dedicated service, integrity and commitment to the advancement of journalism and public communication in Kaduna State and beyond.

The NUJ stated that the appointments are not only well deserved but also a clear indication of Governor Uba Sani’s confidence in the capacity of media practitioners to contribute meaningfully to governance, policy communication and institutional development.

While expressing profound appreciation to Governor Uba Sani for finding the media professionals worthy of the appointments, the Council urged the appointees to deploy their wealth of experience, professionalism and expertise in the discharge of their new responsibilities and to remain worthy ambassadors of the media community.

The Kaduna State Council of the NUJ further expressed optimism that the appointments would strengthen the interface between government and the people, while inspiring younger journalists to strive for excellence, hard work and dedication in the pursuit of their careers.
