Kwara State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (KWACReSAL) says it will ensure improved livelihood and promote sustainable development across the state .
The state Commissioner for Environment and Chairman of the State Steering Committee of ACReSAL, Hajia Nafisat Musa-Buge stated this durng an intensive assessment visit to some of its project intervention sites in the State.
She said the assessment visit provided an opportunity for the team to identify challenges, areas of improvement, and re-strategize for optimal project delivery implementation, aimed at enhancing climate resilience.
Hajia Nafisat Buge emphasized the importance of the visit in enhancing project delivery and impact.
The commissioner expressed delight at the progress recorded so far and urged stakeholders to maintain the momentum to achieve the goals of the project.
In their separate remarks the state Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Afees Abolore and his counterpart from Ministry of Water Resources, Yunusa Lade, commended the ACReSAL project and the State government for the innovative initiative.
They expressed optimism on the project’s potential to improve water accessibility and support agricultural development in the State.
For his part the Project Coordinator, Kwara State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (KWACReSAL) Alhaji Shamsideen Aregbe, urged the consultant to expedite work on the ACReSAL waterworks rehabilitation project.
Aregbe also stressed the need for quality results, underscoring the project’s significance and the importance of timely completion.
In a remark the Magaji Alapa Community,Alhaji Shared Mohammed who spoke on behalf of other traditional leaders said they are grateful for the waterworks rehabilitation project, which will significantly improve their access to clean water and enhance their livelihoods.
Some of the project areas visited by the team included the waterworks at Alapa, Otte Oja, and Pampo all in Asa Local Government Area of the state.
