The Training and Doctrine Command TRADOC of the Nigerian Army says it will continue to play a pivotal role in achieving the Chief of Army Staff’s philosophy of consolidating the transformation of the Nigerian Army into a well-motivated and combat-ready force, capable of effectively discharging its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency environment.

This could be achieved through regular training and retraining of officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army through organising workshops and seminars on the need for them to take full ownership of its doctrine and apply the command philosophy for effective service delivery.

TRADOC Commander, Major General Kevin Aligbe stated this while declaring opened a four day Doctrine Development workshop with the theme “Enhancing Doctrinal Development for Effective Training and Operations within a Joint Environment held in Minna, the Niger state capital.

In his keynote lecture NADCEL  2025 Theme Developing the Soldiers First Concept Imperative For the Nigerian Army’s, Major General Kevin Aligbe who maintained that doctrine is not abstract however said the doctrine document is reviewed time to time after five years, to have a better doctrine during the next review to serve Nigeria better.

The TRADOC Commander however thanked the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede  for his guidance and continued support towards organizing the workshop and advised participants to study the doctrine carefully towards providing an input for subsequent reviews.

Major General Kevin Aligbe assured of the Nigerian Army resolve to ensure continuous improvement through doctrine evolution, testing of new concept and enhancing leadership at all levels to the desired objective, and asked soldiers to think doctrine, live doctrine because according to him doctrine is what they are.

In his welcome address, Chief of Doctrine and Combat Development TRADOC Nigerian Army, Major General Jami’u Jimoh said it was quite gratifying to posit that one of the strategic objectives of Chief Of Army Staff philosophy is Doctrine and. Combat Development which is inline with proactive Doctrine as encapsulated in the Nigerian Army Doctrine twenty twenty two.

Represented by the Director lessons learnt for doctrine Development, Major General Mohammed Babayo, the Chief Of Doctrine and Combat Development applauded the Commander TRADOC Nigerian Army for giving  officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army opportunity to be exposed to this training workshop which he described as highly commendable.

Papers were presented by resource person after the opening session.
