The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Jigawa State Council, has announced the death of its former Chairman, Comrade Fahad Mallam Madori, who passed away on the night of Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Until his demise, Comrade Fahad was serving as the Information Officer in Kaugama and Birniwa Local Government Areas under the Jigawa State Ministry of Information, Youth, Sport and Culture.
Aged 53, he is survived by his wife and four children; the union described him as a dedicated professional and a committed servant of the state.
In a statement by the NUJ State Council Secretary, Comrade Aisha Ahmed, the late journalist was praised for his integrity, union activism, and unwavering stand for truth, professionalism, and unity among media practitioners.
The union extended heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and the entire media community in Jigawa State, describing his death as a great loss to the profession and the state.
Prayers were also offered for the repose of his soul, with hopes that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Jannatul Firdaus.
Similarly, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zone A, has also expressed deep sorrow over the death of Comrade Fahad Muhammad Malam Madori, a veteran journalist and former Chairman of the NUJ Jigawa State Council.
In a condolence message signed by the Zonal Secretary, Abdulrazak Bello Kaura, the union extended sympathies on behalf of the NUJ Zone A Vice President, Muhammad Tukur Umar, to the NUJ National President, Alhassan Usman, the National Secretariat, the Jigawa State Government, the deceased’s family, and the entire journalism community.
The union prayed for the peaceful repose of Comrade Fahad’s soul and asked Almighty Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdaus, while offering comfort to all those he left behind.
