The Jigawa State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (JSPCACC) has launched an official investigation into allegations of abuse of office and financial misappropriation against Mr. Babandi Isah, Managing Director of Jigawa Savings and Loans Nigeria Limited.

In a statement signed by the Commission’s Director of Education and Public Relations, Yusuf Suleiman, the agency said the probe is in line with its statutory mandate to ensure transparency and accountability in public service.

According to the Commission, Mr. Isah is accused of multiple infractions including official corruption, breach of trust, and the improper award of contracts without due process.

One of the cited concerns involves a contract for the procurement of official vehicles that was allegedly left unexecuted.

The investigation also covers suspected devaluation and unauthorized sale of properties belonging to the company located at Shuwarin and Maiduguri/Kiyawa Road, as well as unauthorized partitioning of land at 744 Housing Estate (Mobile Base), Dutse.

Furthermore, Mr. Isah is alleged to have diverted and failed to remit PAYE and withholding taxes due to the Jigawa State Internal Revenue Services.

The Commission confirmed that based on the weight of the allegations, charges have already been filed in court against the accused.

JSPCACC reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing due process and upholding accountability in managing public institutions in the state.

The Commission assured the public that the case will be pursued diligently and transparently in accordance with the law.
