A total of one hundred and nineteen students of the Federal University of Technology Minna , Niger State are to receive first class degrees during forthcoming thirty third convocation Ceremony of the institution.

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, stated this at the pre-convocation press briefing held in Minna.

Prof Faruk Adamu Kuta explained that a total of five thousand eight hundred and sixteen students who have successfully passed their examinations as approved by the Senate of the University will be graduating during the event.

He revealed that the graduating students comprise of 4,955 undergraduates, 632 Master’s graduates, 105 Postgraduate Diploma recipients, and 124 PhD holders.

Professor Kuta also emphasized that, in line with the University’s tradition, graduates would receive their original certificates immediately after the convocation ceremony.

The Vice-Chancellor however maintained the introduction of thirteen new academic programmes were aimed at addressing contemporary societal and global needs.

These programs according to him, includes Data Science, Software Engineering, Public Health, Forestry and Wildlife Technology, Forensic Science, Industrial Mathematics, Meteorology, Interior Design, Furniture Design, Landscape Architecture, Food Engineering, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and Agribusiness.

Professor Faruk Kuta noted that the University had promoted 74 staff members to professorial positions during the academic year, attributing this milestone to the dedication and collaboration of both staff and students.

“It is my pleasure to announce that we are graduating a total of 5,816 students for the 2023/2024 academic session, comprising 4,955 undergraduates, 632 Master’s graduates, 105 Postgraduate Diploma recipients, and 124 PhD holders,” Professor Kuta stated.
