Kano State Fire Service, has confirmed the death of 40 year old Jemoh Ajani, due to fire outbreak at Sardauna Crescent, Badawa layout Nasarawa local government area.

Narrating the incident , the Public Relations Officer kano of the service, PFS Saminu Yusif Abdullahi said-

” our formation received an emergency call at about 14:32 hrs from Muhammad Yusuf “

He explained that fire fighters from Audu Bako Secretariat , Bompai and Central fire stations immediately swung into action.

The public relations officer noted that, on arrival they discovered that a building serving as generator site to Muhammadu Buhari General Hospital Giginyu was engulfed by inferno.

Saminu Yusif pointed out that, one person named Jimoh Ajani was trapped in the building while two diesel tanks, four generators and some parts of the generator room were destroyed.

He highlighted that, Jimoh was rescued unconscious and conveyed to Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Special Hospital where health officials confirmed his death.

The public relations officer said, the fire was triggered by a leakage from the diesel tank , saying that the victim’s body has been handed over to Corporal Usaini Usaini of Badawa Police Division.

“With good effort of our men we successfully control the situation and save the Four (4) sets of new generators and protect the spreading of fire to neighbour houses.”

Radio Nigeria reports that, in June 2022, a 37 year old generator engineer Anthony Usihe lost his life after been trapped in a diesel reservoir at BUK road kofar Dan Agundi, Kano municipal local government area.

Similarly, two well diggers were also trapped to death at Sabon Garin Bauchi of Wudil Local Government Area.

Reports indicate that the untimely death occured after 35 year old Sunusi Bala and his 60 year old father Malam Bala were hired to extract sand from an old well.
