The Kaduna State APC Consensus Aspirants Forum has declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying the decision is based on what it described as the performance of the Tinubu and Uba Sani administrations.
The forum made its position known at a press conference held in Kaduna, where it said members who had accepted the party’s consensus arrangement would now deploy their political structures and experience towards strengthening the APC from the polling-unit level to the state and national levels.
The Chairman of the forum, Godwin Luka, popularly known as Mai Solar, said the aspirants had put aside their individual ambitions in the interest of party unity and were committed to delivering victory for the APC across the 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
He said the forum’s mobilisation would involve unit-to-unit consultations, ward-to-ward engagement and direct interaction with communities, with members also expected to listen to the concerns of voters and communicate the policies and programmes of the APC.
The forum said its support for President Tinubu was also informed by ongoing federal infrastructure projects under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
It cited the ongoing Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Super Highway, with the Federal Government reporting that a section extending from the Federal Capital Territory to Jere in Kaduna State had been completed, while work continued on subsequent sections.
The forum also highlighted the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, designed to provide a major road connection between the North-West and the South-West, as well as the rehabilitation and dualisation of the Sokoto-Gusau-Funtua-Zaria corridor.
Other major federal road initiatives cited include the Zaria-Hunkuyi-Daya road, the Kano-Maiduguri corridor and the Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe-Maiduguri-Yola corridor.
The forum further pointed to the Federal Government’s broader infrastructure programme, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and other major legacy highway projects, describing them as efforts aimed at improving connectivity, trade and economic activities across the country.
The Federal Government has also continued work on the Kaduna-Kano section of the Kaduna-Kano-Jigawa-Katsina-Maradi railway project, which forms part of efforts to expand rail transportation and strengthen economic connectivity in the North-West.
At the state level, the forum said Governor Uba Sani’s administration had demonstrated what it described as a strong commitment to grassroots development.
It cited the administration’s road construction programme, saying approximately 150 road projects covering more than 1,300 kilometres had been initiated across Kaduna’s 23 Local Government Areas. The projects are intended to improve connectivity between rural communities, agricultural production centres and urban markets.
Godwin Luka, hilighted the upgrading of 255 Primary Healthcare Centres to Level-2 facilities and the establishment of 23 Centres of Excellence, one in each Local Government Area.
It also cited the completion of the 300-bed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital in Kaduna, which was started by an earlier administration and completed under Governor Uba Sani.
The administration has also upgraded and rehabilitated several General Hospitals across the state.
The forum further noted the administration’s education interventions, including the construction of 736 classrooms, renovation of more than 1,200 classrooms, recruitment of 10,000 teachers and completion of 62 new secondary schools, with additional schools under construction.
It said the government’s out-of-school children intervention, including the construction of new schools and renovation of existing facilities, was another indication of its effort to expand access to basic education across Kaduna State.
The forum also commended the state government’s investment in agriculture, particularly the distribution of fertiliser and support to smallholder farmers.
It said such interventions were important in strengthening food production, supporting rural livelihoods and connecting farmers to markets.
The forum also pointed to the state’s efforts to attract investment and promote agro-industrial development, including the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones aimed at moving agriculture beyond subsistence production and creating greater opportunities along agricultural value chains.
It maintained that the combination of infrastructure development, healthcare, education, agriculture and grassroots interventions constituted evidence of what it described as a development-oriented administration.
The consensus aspirants urged APC members to remain united, disciplined and committed to reconciliation, warning that internal divisions could undermine the party’s chances in the 2027 elections.
The forum said its members would use their existing political structures to mobilise support for President Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani and all APC candidates, stressing that the consensus arrangement should be viewed not as the end of their political aspirations but as a greater responsibility to strengthen the party.
“We are putting personal ambitions aside and dedicating ourselves to strengthening the APC from the polling unit, to the ward, to the local government and state levels,” the forum said.
It called on Nigerians, particularly residents of Kaduna State, to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and the development programmes of the Uba Sani administration.
The forum said its ultimate objective was to transform the unity achieved through the consensus process into grassroots electoral strength and secure what it described as a decisive victory for the APC in the 2027 general elections.
