Jigawa State Government has suspended the Director of Dutse Mega School, Malam Abdullahi Shehu, from office and directed him to report to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.
In a statement to newsmen in Dutse, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Abdullahi Yakubu, explained that the suspension followed an unannounced visit to the school to assess how its administration was being managed.
He said the government took the decision after observing issues concerning the administration of the school.
According to him, the suspension follows the negligence of duty by the school administration which is highly disappointed and embrassing.
He said, the state commissioner, Ministry of Higher Education Science and Technology Professor Isa Yusuf Chamo lamented how the school management had not meet its mandate in running its affairs despite the government funding in the sector of education.
He further directed the Director of school service ministry of Higher Education Mallam Mustapha Abdullahi Ringim to look into the issue of teachers absentees in order to take further necessary action.
Professor Champ also visited Dutse Model international school where he inspected the ongoing renovation of classes and students hostels in order to ascertain the level of the work where he also inspected the ongoing construction of workshop for the Technical and vocational education.
The inspection end up at school of Arabic and Islamic studies Fatara, Dutse where the management of ministry under the leadership of the commissioner visited the completed renovation of classes and school administrative block where he warned the Director of school for the need to improve the school services for effective teaching and learning.
