According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the successful operation was carried out by police personnel from Fushin Kada in collaboration with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Hunkuyi and other security operatives.

The rescue followed sustained intelligence gathering, strategic surveillance, and coordinated security operations that led the joint team to a suspected bandits’ hideout.

The statement says, on sighting the approaching security personnel, the criminals fled the area, abandoning the victims who were subsequently rescued unharmed.

The rescued victims according to it, were identified as Ekechikwu Omale, Ummi Salisu of Kudan Local Government Area, and Pastor Daniel Tanko Bawa of Tufa Village in Niger State.

Following their rescue, the victims were taken to the Police Clinic for medical examination and treatment before being reunited with their families.

The police also arrested five suspected informants during the course of the investigation.

Preliminary findings revealed that the suspects allegedly provided information and logistical support to the kidnappers.

The suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement during interrogation.
