A prominent political leader and community advocate in Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, Hon. Isah Danssaallah, has announced that he is considering leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing growing disunity within the opposition as a threat to Nigeria’s democratic process ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement titled “Declaration of Intent to Realign Politically,” Danssaallah said the decision followed extensive consultations with his supporters, political associates, and key stakeholders across Kajuru and Chikun LGAs.

He explained that his position was reached after careful reflection on the current state of opposition politics in the country.

The former ADC chieftain criticized the condition of opposition parties, alleging that many have become fragmented, disorganized, and consumed by internal disputes and personal ambitions.

He described his experience within the ADC as particularly disappointing, accusing the party of lacking transparency and effective leadership.
According to him, the ADC has been weakened by disunity, parallel structures, and the emergence of self-imposed candidates at state, local government, and ward levels without transparent and coordinated processes.

He added that the absence of a unified leadership direction has undermined the party’s ability to protect the integrity of its structures, thereby strengthening the position of the ruling party ahead of 2027.

Danssaallah, however, commended the PDP for what he described as its maturity, respect for due process, and organizational strength.

He said the conduct of PDP leaders and stakeholders convinced him that the party remains the most structured and nationally organized opposition platform in Nigeria.

He stressed that his proposed move is driven not by personal ambition but by a commitment to democratic principles, good governance, and the need to build a stronger and more united opposition. While consultations continue, he said a final decision on the political realignment would be announced at the appropriate time.

Political observers believe any defection by Danssaallah and his supporters could significantly boost the PDP’s grassroots influence in the strategically important Kajuru and Chikun LGAs ahead of the 2027 elections.

ADC and PDP officials in Kaduna State had yet to react to the declaration as of press time.
