The Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency has called for enhanced collaboration with non governmental organizations and journalists to achieve its mandate.
Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Usman Hayatu Mazadu made the appeal when he received members of Earthwell Climate Change and Environmental Initiative on a courtesy visit .

Dr. Usman Hayatu Mazadu who was represented by the Director, Finance and Accounts, Hajia Aminatu Salisbury Abdulraheem said such mutual collaboration will help the agency to fully actualize its mandate.

The executive secretary noted that the agency is among the best in the country, as it has the policy, legislative and institutional framework to deal with emergencies.
Dr. Usman Hayatu Mazadu further explained that the agency is more proactive than reactionary in its operational mechanism with active presence in the 23 local government areas of the state.
Speaking on behalf of Earthwell Climate Change and Environmental Initiative delegation, the founder of ECCEI, Mrs. Rasheedat Abiola Niyi said the purpose of the visit was to seek synergy and collaboration on environmental concerns in the state.

She said such partnership was pivotal as the Initiative is made up of journalists and other professionals with access to communities with environmental challenges.
The meeting ended with both parties pledging enhanced collaboration.
