Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing all ongoing projects before the expiration of his tenure.

Governor Zulum gave the assurance while speaking with journalists after inspecting key infrastructure projects within Maiduguri metropolis aimed at boosting the socio-economic development of the state.

The projects inspected include the 4,000-capacity International Conference Centre, the Post Office Flyover, and the dualisation of the 2.5-kilometre Tandari–Neitel Shoe–Tennary Road through the Maiduguri Cattle Market.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the level of work completed, particularly at the International Conference Centre and the Post Office Flyover.

He disclosed that the International Conference Centre is scheduled for completion in September, while the contractor handling the Post Office Flyover has been directed to complete the project within the next 30 to 40 days.

Governor Zulum said his administration remains determined to deliver all projects that have direct impact on the lives of the people before the end of its tenure.

He noted that hundreds of projects have already been completed across the state and assured residents that ongoing projects would be delivered as scheduled, while additional projects may also be introduced where necessary.

The governor urged contractors to take advantage of the current favourable weather conditions to accelerate construction work, assuring them of the government’s continued financial support.

Governor Zulum further warned that any aspect of work not completed within the stipulated timeframe would be reassigned to the Ministry of Works to ensure timely completion.

On compensation for residents affected by the Post Office Flyover project, the governor assured that the state government would honour all legitimate compensation claims.

Governor Zulum reiterated his administration’s resolve to leave behind durable and impactful projects that will continue to improve the lives of the people of Borno State.
