Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has approved the distribution of 100 Saudi riyals to each of the state’s pilgrims currently in Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj as a Sallah gift.

State Amirul Hajj and Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi, disclosed this during a Sallah visit to the pilgrims’ accommodation in Makkah.

The Emir explained that each pilgrim would receive 100 Saudi riyals as a Sallah gift from Governor Umar Namadi.

He described the gesture as a goodwill package aimed at providing financial support to the pilgrims as they prepare for their return journey to Nigeria following the completion of the 2026 Hajj rites.

While commenting the pilgrims on conduct exhibited, Alhaji Hamim Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi commended the conduct of the pilgrims throughout their stay in Madina, Mina, Muzdalifa and Makkah.

He expressed satisfaction that none of them was found wanting in violating Saudi laid down rules and regulations.

He commended the Director General of the board and the entire management team as well as preachers for the feeding arrangements, accommodations as well as the guidance given to the jigawa contingent in Saudi Arabia.

The Amirul Hajj called on the entire pilgrims to continue offering prayers for leaders and lasting peace,specifically appealed to pray fervently in Masjid Haram for an end to insecurity and other challenges confronting the nation.

He appreciated and also urged the pilgrims for their prayers on economic stability to the state and the country for their remaining days in Makkah.

Also speaking, the Director General Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo commended the pilgrims for obeying the laid down rules of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He called on the pilgrims not to exceed 8kg hand and 46 kg luggages given to them by the board.

Some of pilgrims who spoke to Radio Nigeria thanked Governor Namadi for the welfare and promised to continue to be good ambassadors of the state while at the holy land.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the leader of government delegation that accompanied the Amirul Hajj include the Chairman House Committee on Hajj, some members of the state executive Council among others.
