The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Matawalle, has inspected accommodation facilities occupied by Kano State pilgrims in Mina as part of efforts to monitor welfare services during the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The inspection tour covered several tents housing Kano pilgrims, where the Director General assessed living conditions and received firsthand feedback on services being provided to the pilgrims.

Speaking during the visit, Matawalle said the exercise was aimed at ensuring that arrangements put in place for the pilgrims were functioning effectively and that issues requiring urgent attention were promptly addressed.

He interacted with pilgrims and officials responsible for various aspects of the Hajj operation and directed relevant personnel to address concerns raised through appropriate channels.

Matawalle stated that the Board would continue its monitoring activities throughout the pilgrimage period to ensure effective delivery of essential services, including accommodation, feeding, transportation, and medical care.

Some of the pilgrims welcomed the visit, describing it as an opportunity to communicate directly with officials overseeing their welfare in the Holy Land.

The inspection forms part of ongoing oversight activities by the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board as thousands of pilgrims from the state continue performing the 2026 Hajj rites in Saudi Arabia.
