The Zenith Labour Party-ZLP has adopted a former acting Accountant General of Federation, Alhaji Abubakar Giza, as its consensus candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in Nasarawa state.
The State Party Chairman, Mr. Cletus Ogah who disclosed this to newsmen at the state party’s secretariat in Lafia, said that their decision to adopt Abubakar Giza was due to his leadership skills and support for the less privileged individuals in the state.
According to Mr. Cletus Ogah, “His candidature is going to change so many things in Nasarawa State. And as I said earlier, our forms are still on sale. We have passion and consideration for the present economy we’re facing now. Women are really suffering, their nomination fee is free.
” For the youth, the youth will equally benefit on the same nomination too, which is free from the age of 25 to 29 years, we’ll give you a free nomination and whether you’re contesting for Senate or State Assembly or Reps,” he said.
Earlier, in his declaration, Alhaji Abubakar Giza, said that his intention to join the gubernatorial race was not based on various calls, but his past track records and ability to bring more development into the state.
According to Abubakar Giza, “My decision is also driven by a deep concern for the realities facing the people. The youth who seeks opportunities but finds doors closed The civil servant who desires dignity in service as well as the retiree and the pensioners who deserves full payment of their gratuity and pension.
” Our rural communities which yearning for modern roads. And above all the need for a security, peaceful and secure environment.
” My vision is simple but powerful; A productive, secure, and people-centered Nasarawa State. If given the mandate, my administration will focus on Economic Revitalization and Job Creation.
He added that if given opportunity he will unlock an agricultural value chains, promote small and medium enterprises, and attract investments that create real jobs for the people of Nasarawa State.
