A Non-Governmental Organization, Empower Her Project, has called on stakeholders to collaborate in reducing the number of out-of-school girls and ensuring they return to the classroom for a better future.
The Programme Manager of the project Hajiya Hafsat Yusuf made the appeal during a community visitation and school enrollment outreach held at Keke A and Keke B communities in Kaduna.

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Empowering Women for Excellence Initiative
Speaking at the event, the Programme Manager emphasized the urgent need for collective action to address the growing number of girls roaming the streets without access to education.
She appealed to well-meaning individuals and organizations to support efforts aimed at improving the lives of less privileged children.
Hajiya Hafsat Yusuf expressed satisfaction with the level of support received from community leaders and parents.
She noted that the enthusiasm shown by the girls marked a significant step towards development in the communities.
The Headmaster of one of the beneficiary schools in Keke B, Mr. Gideon Luka, commended the initiative and urged others to emulate the NGO in tackling the challenge of out-of-school children.
Also speaking, a teacher, Mrs. Janet Danjuma, expressed delight at seeing the girls return to school and stressed the importance of sustained follow-up to ensure they remain enrolled.
Some of the beneficiaries also shared their excitement and appreciation for the opportunity to resume their education.

A total of 20 girls were enrolled during the outreach and provided with school uniforms, writing materials, bags, sanitary pads, soap, underwear, and other hygiene items to support their learning.
