Community Development Associations (CDAs) in Southern Kaduna have reaffirmed commitment to intensifying participation in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, describing political engagement as critical to sustaining recent gains in security and development across the region.
The resolution was reached during a forum meeting held in Gumel, Kachia Local Government Area, which brought together representatives from over 54 ethnic nationalities within the zone.
Speaking at the meeting, the Forum Chairman, Dr. Samuel Achie, emphasized the importance of voter registration in strengthening democratic inclusion and ensuring that the voices of Southern Kaduna communities are adequately represented.
He noted that the Forum would scale up sensitization efforts across the area to encourage wider participation in the exercise.
Dr. Achie also disclosed that the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has made significant contributions to support the Forum’s activities.
According to him, the Minister donated the sum of ten million naira and pledged an 18-seater bus to facilitate administrative operations, including the effective monitoring of the CVR exercise across the region.
Members of the Forum welcomed the gesture, describing the interventions as impactful and timely in advancing both development and civic engagement in Southern Kaduna.
The Forum further commended Senator Sunday Marshal Katung and Mr. Daniel Amos for their sustained contributions to the development of the area.
Dr. Achie highlighted their support for security agencies, noting that such efforts have contributed to improved stability in communities previously affected by insecurity and banditry.
Rising from the meeting, the CDAs pledged to utilize the donated resources transparently to strengthen institutional structures and build public confidence.
The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including the Chairman of Kachia LGA, M. Manzo, who also chairs the ALGON Southern Kaduna Forum of Chairmen.
The Forum noted that the presence of political leaders and security officials reflects a growing collaboration aimed at fostering peace, development, and inclusive governance in Southern Kaduna.
