Governor Umar Namadi has received a high-level technical delegation from Srinivasa Farms, India, led by the company’s Vice President, Mr. Senthil Kumar Krishnan, during a courtesy visit at Government House, Dutse, Jigawa State.
The visit follows the state government’s earlier investment mission to India in May 2025, where discussions were initiated on strategic partnerships in agriculture, particularly in poultry development.
As part of their engagement, the delegation is undertaking a four-day technical assessment across Kazaure, Gumel, Hadejia, and Dutse, evaluating both private and state-owned poultry facilities.
The team is also engaging local farmers and exploring key areas of collaboration, including the establishment of a modern hatchery and poultry feed mill in the state.
Governor Namadi described the partnership as a major step toward unlocking economic opportunities, with the potential to generate employment, boost internally generated revenue, and transform rural livelihoods.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to leveraging private sector expertise to drive food security and industrial growth, noting that the state is building a sustainable poultry value chain for the benefit of its citizens.
The governor said the visit was a follow-up to earlier engagements in India, adding that it represents the fourth delegation from the country to visit Jigawa as a result of the investment mission.
Namadi noted that the state has already begun to reap the benefits of the trip, including agreements on seed production and collaborations in agribusiness and dairy development.
He expressed confidence that the partnership with Srinivasa Farms would significantly improve poultry production and increase farmers’ incomes across the state.
The governor also reiterated plans to establish hatchery and feed production facilities, alongside promoting training and technology transfer to empower local farmers.

In his remarks, Mr. Senthil Kumar Krishnan presented an overview of Srinivasa Farms, noting that the company has over 60 years of experience in the poultry industry, with operations in multiple countries.
He said the company specialises in hatchery management, feed production, and egg production, among other areas.
Krishnan added that the delegation’s assessment revealed strong potential for partnership, citing similarities in climate and agricultural conditions between parts of India and Jigawa State.
He explained that the proposed collaboration aims to support small and medium-scale farmers through access to quality chicks, affordable feed, veterinary services, and reliable market linkages.
According to him, the initiative will introduce modern poultry practices, improve biosecurity standards, and strengthen the sector to ensure a steady supply of poultry products while reducing losses and inefficiencies.
