Ahead of 2027, A renowned Islamic cleric in Zamfara State Dr.Abdulmudalib Muhammad Auwal has declared interest to contest Governorship under the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state, saying ADC has blueprint with a foresight.
Dr. Auwal made the declaration shortly after he registered as ADC member in Gusau said his administration would be guided by party blueprint if he become Zamfara Governor in 2027,God willing.
He said his decision to join the race was driven by the need to address the numerous challenges confronting the state, including poverty, insecurity, unemployment, and poor social services.
Abdulmuddalib Muhammad Auwal alleged that, the present administration in Zamfara state has not done much to better the welfare of women and youths in the state.
According to him, leadership is a sacrifice that must be committed to the service of humanity, lamenting that many residents of the state are currently facing severe hardship without adequate opportunities to improve their living conditions.
“Our people are going through difficult times. Zamfara is battling insecurity, poverty, and hardship, yet there are abundant opportunities and resources that can be harnessed to change the situation,” he said.
Dr. Auwal emphasized that his administration, if elected, would prioritize agriculture and security, particularly through the construction of dams to support irrigation farming and enhance food production.
He also highlighted job creation, youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and improved security as key areas of focus.
“We intend to create jobs, expand access to education and healthcare, and improve security across the state. Youth empowerment will be central to our mission because it is critical to addressing many of the challenges we face,” he added.
The governorship aspirant further called on young people to actively participate in politics, stressing that their involvement is essential to driving meaningful change and sustainable development in Zamfara State and Nigeria at large.
Responding to questions on whether he enjoys the backing of Islamic scholars in the state, Dr. Auwal expressed optimism, noting that broader consultations and support would become clearer in due course.
He reiterated his commitment to offering purposeful leadership aimed at improving the lives of the people and restoring hope across the state.
In their separate remarks,the ADC chairman Gusau local government represented by Vice chairman Mallam Aliyu as well as ADC Women leader Hajiya Maryam Rabiu lauded the foresight of the Islamic cleric Dr.Abdulmudalib Muhammad Auwal for joining the party,assured the Governorship Aspirant of their support towards a better Zamfara State.
