Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Muhammad Bulala, has been inducted as an Associate Member of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), in a move aimed at strengthening ethical advertising practices in Nigeria’s media space.
The induction and oath-taking ceremony took place at the ARCON headquarters in Utako, Abuja, where Dr Bulama joined other senior media executives drawn from both public and private institutions.
Speaking at the event, Dr Bulama described the induction as a boost to Radio Nigeria’s long-standing commitment to professionalism, particularly in media marketing and the dissemination of credible advertorial content.
He said the recognition further positions the Corporation as a trusted platform for responsible advertising.
He expressed confidence that his appointment as an ARCON Ambassador would enhance public trust and encourage increased patronage from advertisers and stakeholders engaging with Radio Nigeria nationwide.
In his remarks, the Director-General of ARCON, Olalekan Fadolapo, said the induction exercise was designed to promote ethical conduct and ensure that advertising content across all media platforms complies with established legal and professional standards.
Dr Fadolapo urged the inductees to uphold truth, transparency, and accountability in advertising, stressing that responsible advertorial practices are critical to protecting consumers and maintaining confidence in the media industry.
Also inducted at the ceremony were the Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission, Charles Ebuebu, and the Special Assistant to the Minister of Information and National Orientation on Media, Rabiu Ibrahim.
