President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the dividends of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda will be felt across every state and community in the country.

He urged members of the National Economic Council (NEC), comprising state governors and key government officials, to recommit themselves to delivering inclusive growth and sustainable national development.

The President gave the charge on Tuesday in Abuja during his closing remarks at the second edition of the NEC Conference held at the State House Conference Hall.

The two-day conference was themed, “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable National Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan.”

Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu described reform as a continuous process that requires courage, patience and consistency from all stakeholders.

He said decisions taken at the conference must translate into tangible improvements in the lives of Nigerians through job creation, infrastructure development, improved healthcare, strengthened education and expanded business opportunities.

The President emphasised that the Renewed Hope Agenda is a national commitment that demands a shift from dialogue to concrete action and measurable results.

He assured that the Federal Government would continue to support sub-national governments, deepen institutional reforms and strengthen coordination to ensure effective policy implementation.

Tinubu commended Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chairman of NEC, for providing steady leadership and guiding deliberations with focus and clarity.

He also appreciated governors, ministers, development partners and private sector stakeholders for their contributions and commitment to national progress.

According to him, the conference reaffirmed commitment to fiscal discipline, economic diversification, infrastructure expansion, food security, social protection and human capital development.

The NEC, in a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, called on states to align with the national security framework and adopt non-kinetic measures to address unemployment and poverty as part of efforts to curb insecurity.

Council urged all tiers of government to strengthen cooperative federalism, prioritise bankable projects in key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, energy, transport, logistics and digital infrastructure, and work towards building a one-trillion-dollar economy.

It also encouraged states to enact the harmonised tax law to address multiple taxation and support ongoing fiscal reforms, commending states that have already passed the legislation and urging others to expedite action.

The conference featured seven panel sessions with presentations by experts on key economic issues, focusing on coordinated policy execution to achieve inclusive growth and long-term national development.
