The new Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Dutse, Professor Ahmad Mohammed Gumel, has unveiled a comprehensive vision aimed at transforming the institution into a leading centre for research, innovation and academic excellence in Nigeria by 2030.
Professor Gumel made this known while presenting his vision and mission upon officially assuming office as the fourth Vice-Chancellor of the university.
He emphasised the need to produce graduates equipped with competence, integrity and the capacity to contribute meaningfully to national development.

According to the him, the transformation agenda is driven by an eleven-point strategic development framework, with priority areas including academic excellence, research and innovation, digital transformation, and improved student and staff welfare.
He explained that the university will modernize its curricula to align with National Universities Commission benchmarks and global best practices, with plans to introduce new programmes such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Climate-Smart Agriculture, and other emerging disciplines.


Professor Gumel also announced the establishment of an Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization to convert research outputs into patents and viable products, while strengthening partnerships with international donor agencies.
The FUD Boss assured stakeholders that a detailed five-year strategic plan has been developed and will soon be presented to the governing council for approval.
