Kano State Government has assured residents that the lingering Emirate tussle will soon be resolved.

Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, gave the assurance during an interaction with journalists in Kano.

He said concrete measures have been put in place to address the matter amicably and restore lasting peace in the state.

According to him the administration is committed to dialogue and peaceful engagement with all stakeholders to prevent the issue from generating further tension.

Comrade Ibrahim Waiya, maintained that  government’s approach to resolving the Emirate matter is guided by respect for the rule of law, traditional institutions, and the collective interest of the people of Kano State.

He stressed  that the issue will not be allowed to distract the government from its core responsibilities.

Commenting on the recent defection of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the commissioner said the move would bring increased dividends of democracy to Kano, noting that closer alignment with the Federal Government would attract more interventions and development projects.

He added that the decision of the Deputy Governor, who has not defected alongside the governor, remains a personal choice, while reiterating that the state government remains focused on governance, unity, and development, while urging residents to remain calm and supportive as efforts continue to move the state forward.
