The Kano State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has commenced the screening of personnel of the Neighbourhood Watch Security Agency recruited by the Kano State Government, as part of efforts to integrate them into the formal civil service structure.
The screening exercise was officially launched by the Chairperson of the Commission, Hajiya Ladidi Ibrahim Garko, who said the process falls within the statutory responsibilities of the Commission, including recruitment, promotion, and the enhancement of the dignity of public servants.

She explained that the initiative aligns with the employment creation drive of the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, especially at a critical time.
Hajiya Ladidi urged the newly recruited security personnel to carry out their duties diligently, adhere strictly to civil service rules and regulations, and avoid actions that run contrary to established procedures.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Alhaji Sani Shehu Minjibir, addressed the personnel, providing clarification on the nature of government service.
He highlighted relevant rules and regulations guiding civil service operations and encouraged the recruits to serve as good ambassadors wherever they are deployed.
In separate remarks, Commissioners of the Commission, including Alhaji Mahmud Umar, commended the Kano State Government for the initiative, noting that the recruitment of the Neighbourhood Watch personnel would help in reducing security challenges across the state.
Officials from internal security agencies who accompanied the personnel were also present to witness the screening exercise.
