The Kano State Hospitals Management Board has ordered an immediate investigation into the reported death of a patient, Aishatu Umar, at the Abubakar Imam Urology Centre in Kano.
The directive was issued by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda, following public concern over the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In a statement signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Samira Suleiman, the management expressed deep condolences to the family of the deceased and assured the public that the investigation would be conducted with transparency and professionalism.
According to the statement, the probe will thoroughly examine the facts and circumstances of the alleged incident to determine whether any form of negligence occurred during the patient’s care.
“The Board assures the general public that the investigation will be transparent, impartial, and professional, and appropriate actions will be taken in line with established regulations should any negligence be established,” the statement reads.
The Board also reaffirmed its commitment to patient safety and quality healthcare delivery across all state-owned health facilities, stressing that the welfare of patients remains its top priority.
The Kano State Hospitals Management Board noted that further updates would be provided upon the conclusion of the investigation.
