A four-bedroom flat belonging to a retired staff member of the Health Services Management Board, Jalingo, Ayuba Ali Dangana, has been destroyed by fire at ATC in Jalingo.

The incident occurred in the early hours of today.

Speaking with our reporter, Dangana said the fire started while he was in his room checking some files, without knowing where the fire originated from.

He explained that due to the intensity of the inferno, he was unable to salvage any of his belongings, except for the clothes he was wearing, his wife, and his children.

According to him, there was no electricity supply at the time of the incident, and all electrical appliances in the house had been switched off. He expressed surprise over the cause of the fire, describing it as a mystery.

Dangana appealed to public-spirited individuals to come to his aid at this crucial moment, noting that he has retired from active service.

Our reporter, who visited the scene of the incident, confirmed that the entire building was completely razed by fire. All household items were destroyed, and despite efforts by neighbors and well-wishers to control the blaze, nothing could be saved.
