The Secretary to the Zamfara State Government (SSG), Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, is currently attending the Sixth Global Summit of the Strong Cities Network taking place in Toronto, Canada.
The summit with the theme “Stronger Together: Forging Safer, Connected, Thriving Cities in a Changing World,” convenes mayors, senior government officials, civil society organisations, and global partners to advance city-led solutions for countering hate, extremism, online harms, and social polarization.

In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant (Media) Office of the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government Sulaiman Ahmad Tudu said the gathering also focuses on strengthening community safety, inclusion, and resilience in an increasingly complex world.
For Zamfara State, the event provides a valuable platform for sharing experiences, forming strategic partnerships, and gaining insights that will support the state’s ongoing security, social cohesion, and development initiatives, particularly the Urban Renewal Programme.
Zamfara’s participation reflects the unwavering commitment of the administration of Dr. Dauda Lawal, to international cooperation and holistic, society-wide approaches to peacebuilding.

It also underscores the government’s dedication to nurturing inclusive and resilient communities in line with global best practices for preventing violent extremism and sustaining social cohesion.
Malam Nakwada is using the summit to engage with international stakeholders, with the goal of adapting relevant global strategies to Zamfara’s unique realities while showcasing the state’s emerging local models.
