03 12 25 RCommissioners designate and newly elected Local Government Councils Chairmen as well as Permanent Secretaries in Niger state have been directed to work collectively towards delivering the ‘New Niger’ Agenda of the present administration.
Governor Mohammed Umar Bago gave the directive while declaring open, an 8-day executive retreat organized for them and Special Advisors with the theme, Whole Governance, a Collaborative Effort for Development:The Road to a New Niger’, held at the Government House, Minna.
Represented by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, Governor Umar Bago maintained that probity and accountability in the management of resources entrusted to them must remain the cardinal principle of his administration, and advised them to lead by example by providing clear leadership for the good of all.
The Governor also reminded parents and citizens of Niger state that his administration is working relentlessly to secure the release of the abducted children of St Mary Primary and Secondary School, Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area soon.
“As the chief security officer of the state and a parent myself, I feel the pain of every mother and father anxiously waiting for the children to return home. Let me use this opportunity to assure you all that we are committed to the safety of the children and ensuring the security of lives and properties in the state”, he said.
Secretary to the Niger State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman said the retreat was designed to strengthen collaboration and build a unified sense of purpose among top government officials as the administration advances its New Niger Agenda, therefore reminded the chairmen-elect that grassroots development lies on their shoulders and called for collective efforts to succeed.
