Nigerian women have once again been encouraged to commit themselves to strengthening their homes and upholding moral standards in society through continuous prayers for peace, unity, and sustainable development in the country and the global community.
This was the central focus of the 35th Annual Diocesan Conference of the Mothers’ Union and Women’s Guild of the Diocese of Kafanchan, themed “Behold, I’m With You,” held in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, Nigeria.
The spiritual event brought together women from different parishes to pray, deliberate, and promote family values, unity, and community development, considering their important role in nation-building.
The conference climaxed with worship sessions, inspirational teachings, and a renewed call for unity and selfless service to humanity in order to attract God’s divine mercy and provisions for socio-economic growth and development.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Jema’a Local Government, Mr. Peter Tanko Dogara, reaffirmed the Local Government’s commitment to supporting faith-based institutions and recognized the vital role women play in building strong homes and resilient communities.
Similarly, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jema’a Local Government, Mr. Amos Samaila, pledged continued support for initiatives that promote harmony, women empowerment, and sustainable development.
He also prayed for the success of the conference and the safe return of all participants to their respective destinations.
The Anglican Bishop of Kafanchan, Reverend Markus Dogo, speaking from Matthew 28:20, assured the women of God’s continual spiritual presence with believers until the end of the age.
While appreciating the political stakeholders for their presence, he enjoined them to fear not, but remain steadfast to their service for both God and humanity.
The conference coincided with the global celebration of “Mother’s Union at 150,” marking 150 years of the organization’s enduring commitment to strengthening Christian families and communities worldwide.
