In a renewed effort to promote a more conducive learning environment, alumni of Kaduna Capital School have donated three solar-powered boreholes, 50 three-seater desks, and 25 whiteboards to the renowned basic education institution.
Speaking during the tape-cutting ceremony, Munzali Dantata—an old boy who led the delegation, emphasized the vital role of infrastructure in quality education. “Good infrastructure is complementary to qualitative learning,” he said.

Dantata further described the school, established more than 60 years ago, as “one of the best primary learning centres in Nigeria,” adding that alumni would continue to support areas in need of intervention to sustain its high standards.
President of the Old Students Association, Rabi Saulawa, explained that the solar-powered boreholes—donated by the family of the late Lawal Uwais—had been connected to refurbished male and female toilets, as well as exclusive facilities for teaching and non-teaching staff.
She added that the newly supplied furniture and teaching aids were built to last. “The 50 three-seater benches and 25 whiteboards are of very high quality and designed to stand the test of time,” she noted.

Reaffirming the association’s long-term commitment, Saulawa said, “Capital School, being the best nursery, primary and secondary school in Kaduna, has produced numerous prominent individuals who have excelled across various fields. We will not abandon it.”
The Principal, Yahaya Nuhu, praised the alumni for their unwavering support. “Apart from improving infrastructure, the alumni have been awarding scholarships, which has increased our student population,” he said.
Nuhu added that the newly donated facilities would “ensure safe, decent and conducive teaching and learning conditions” for both staff and students.
Representing the Kaduna State Commissioner of Education, Khadija Haruna applauded the gesture. “This generous contribution will go a long way in complementing the government’s efforts to provide quality education for growth and development,” she stated.
