Fourteen students of the New Gate University Minna, Niger state that bagged first class degrees have been awarded automatic employment.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Sadiq Yusuf stated this while addressing Newsmen in Minna, on the maiden convocation ceremony of the institution slated for next week.
Prof Sadiq Yusuf explained that out of the two hundred and seven graduands eighty one of them bagged second class upper, eighty eight second lower, while twenty four got third class honours, comprising of one hundred and two female and one hundred and five male.
He however announced plans by the university to introduce new programmes including BSC Artificial Intelligence, Bsc Data Science, and Community Health and to establish its school of post graduate studies and centre for distance and electronic learning, and expressed appreciation to the Board of Trustees, Governing Council, Senate, Staff, Students, Parents, NUC and the Media for their continued support.
Established in May twenty twenty two, the university currently runs thirteen academic programmes across four faculties, all duly recognized by the National Universities Commission NUC and relevant professional bodies, saying the institution had recorded major milestone to include full NUC accreditation of ten programmes with three scheduled for upcoming cycles among others.
Prof Sadiq Yusuf who described inadequate fund and infrastructure as major problems militating against their smooth operation however said the university will continue to accord zero tolerance on examination mal practices to enable it sustain its leadership role of providing a world class quality education.
