Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has proposed the sum of over 901 billion naira as 2026 appropriation budget to the state house of assembly.

While presenting the proposal tagged “Budget of Innovation & Transformation For Greater Jigawa II“, Governor Namadi said the sum of over 693.4 billion naira representing over 76 percent will be for capital expenditure.

The governor also said the sum of over 208 billion naira will be for recurrent expenditure.

According to him, over 310 billion naira is proposed for education and health, while over 186 billion naira for roads and transport.

Malam Umar Namadi further explained that the sum of over 74 billion naira for agriculture and Livestock, 50.74 billion naira for power and energy while 12.68 billion naira for youth empowerment.

He pointed out that, the sum of 25.4 billion naira was proposed for water and Sanitation, 35.4 billion naira for environment and climate.

Governor Namadi also presented the sum of over 288 billion naira for the services of the 27 local government area council.

Radio Nigeria reports that the 2026 budget proposal is 19 Percent higher the the 2025 budget.
