Kwara State Fire Service has averted a major fire outbreak at Radio Nigeria Harmony FM in Idofian, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement, the Head of Media and Publicity of the service, Hassan Adekunle, said the fire started from the generator house, posing a serious threat to the main station building.

He explained that firefighters successfully contained the blaze and prevented it from spreading to the broadcasting facilities, thereby averting what could have been a major communication disaster.

According to the statement, preliminary investigation reveals that the fire was triggered by a spark from the generator battery, which ignited combustible materials within the generator room.
