The National President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Audu Titus Amba, has condemned the abduction of schoolgirls by unknown gunmen in Kebbi State.

He stated this when he paid a solidarity visit to Governor Nasiru Idris in Birnin Kebbi.

Comrade Audu Titus Amba described the incident as highly saddening, horrifying and a setback to the education sector.

He called on the Federal Government to to put in more effort towards ensuring the safe release of the girls, as well as bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The NUT President also advised Nigerians to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to relevant security agencies.
