Tactical units of the Niger State Police, alongside military personnel and other security agencies, have moved to Papiri and are combing the forests in an effort to rescue the abducted students of Saint Mary Catholic Secondary School.

In view of this, the Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger State, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to rescue the students unhurt, and appealed to members of the public to remain calm and support security operations to rescue the students.

This is contained in a statement issued to Newsmen in Minna by the force Image Maker, Superintendent of Police Wasi’u Abiodun.

The statement further assured that the incident is currently under investigation and necessary action will be taken against the school management for continuing academic activities, contrary to the State government directive on closure of schools in the area due to security challenges.
