Bandits who abducted 38 worshippers from the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, have demanded ₦100 million ransom for each victim.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the kidnappers have begun contacting the families of those seized during the church service.

A community leader and Olori Eta of Eruku, Chief Olusegun Olukotun, confirmed the development to newsmen. He said four of his relatives were among the abductees.

Olukotun explained that he was in the church with five family members when the attack occurred, noting that one of his wards managed to escape through a window.

He said the kidnappers had reached out to the community, insisting on ₦100 million per victim.

The community leader appealed for increased security presence in Eruku, a border town, to protect lives and property.
