The newly deployed State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, has officially assumed duty at the state headquarters.
His posting follows a directive by the Commandant General of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, as part of efforts to strengthen operational efficiency and enhance internal security across the country.
In his maiden address, Commandant Agalama expressed appreciation to the Commandant General for the confidence reposed in him, pledging total commitment to the Corps’ mandate of protecting critical national assets, disaster management, anti-vandalism operations, and community-based conflict resolution.
He assured residents of Kano that his leadership will intensify efforts to ensure peace, safety,security of lives and property in line with the Corps’ vision of creating a secure environment for socio-economic growth.
Agalama emphasized inter-agency collaboration, community engagement, and intelligence sharing as key strategies to address emerging security threats.
He also called for the cooperation of sister security agencies, traditional rulers, the media, and the public.
Reiterating the Corps’ zero tolerance for indiscipline and corruption, he warned officers to uphold professionalism, integrity, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.
Commandant Agalama, an indigene of Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, holds a B.Sc. in Political Science from the University of Abuja and an M.Sc. in Public Sector Accounting from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
He has served in various capacities across several state commands, including Gombe, Lagos, Rivers, Niger, Nassarawa, Kaduna, and Bayelsa, and was until his posting to Kano the State Commandant in Borno.
He takes over from Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, who has been redeployed to the Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja for another assignment.
