The Kebbi State Government, through the Ministry of Religious Affairs, has organized a special prayer session for the sustenance of peace, unity and progress in the state.

In his welcome address, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, expressed gratitude to Almighty God for granting Governor Nasir Idris the wisdom and foresight to initiate the programme.

The Chairman of the Prayer Committee, Alhaji Zaiyanu Sani, described the event as significant, noting that Governor Idris brought together both Muslim and Christian leaders to jointly pray for peace, especially in view of the security challenges facing the nation.

He commended those who contributed financially to ensure that similar prayer sessions continue across all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

According to him, selected Islamic clerics have been holding fasting and Qur’anic recitations for the success of Governor Idris, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and other leaders, as well as for lasting peace in the state.

In his closing remarks, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Arch. Sani Aliyu, appreciated all those who contributed to the success of the programme, adding that Governor Idris is a leader deserving prayers for his developmental strides and fulfilment of campaign promises.
