Kano State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND) has carried out a post-funding verification visit to Sheikh Muhammad Jidda General Hospital in Kano to assess the completion and quality of a newly constructed Physiotherapy and Gym Department, funded at a total cost of ₦46,736,594.78.

During the exercise, the KHETFUND team reviewed project documents, inspected the structural works and equipment installations, and evaluated the overall functionality of the new department.

Speaking during the inspection, the Executive Secretary of KHETFUND, Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen, represented by the Director of Administration and General Services, Abubakar Bala, said the exercise reaffirms KHETFUND’s commitment to ensuring that healthcare investments translate into tangible service delivery improvements.

He stated that the new Physiotherapy and Gym Department would enhance the hospital’s rehabilitative care capacity, improve patient recovery, and reduce referrals to other facilities.

Dr. Zahraddeen further emphasized that KHETFUND, under the guidance of the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, remains committed to promoting transparency through continuous monitoring and evaluation of all funded projects.

In his remarks, the Medical Director of Sheikh Muhammad Jidda General Hospital, represented by the Zonal Director of Physiotherapy, Dr. Fatima I. Hamza, commended KHETFUND and the Kano State Government for their continued support in improving healthcare infrastructure.
