Voting for the Local Government Councils election in Niger state has commenced in some poling units in Chanchaga and Bosso Local Government Areas by ten o’clock in the morning.

While accreditation of eligible voters has commenced by nine o’clock in the morning with low turn out of voters for the Local Government polls in many areas visited.

Speaking to Newsmen after casting his vote at the F_ Lay out MINNA, in Chanchaga Local Government Council,  Special Adviser to the Niger State Governor, Political and Strategy, Alh Mohammed Nma Kolo described the turn out of voters for the exercise as impressive and commended them to exercising their franchise in a peaceful manner.

Mohammed Nma Kolo also commended the Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC for demonstrating high level of maturity in conducting its affairs, as well as the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission NSIEC for organizing a credible election while expressing confidence that the outcome of the election will be a win win situation for members of political parties in Niger state.

On the burning of some electoral material by irate youths at the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC office in Magama Local Government Council, he said the problem has been sorted out and election is going on smoothly in those areas and that the APC is poised to win all the seats contested.

Meanwhile Police Public Relations Officer Niger State Police Command, ASP Wasi’u Abiodun who said an arrest has been made as regards to the incident however did not mention the number of people that have been arrested so far.
