The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made during a well-attended stakeholders’ meeting of the party held at Talata Mafara Local government area of Zamfara State on Saturday.
The decision was announced by the former governor of the state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, who chaired the meeting.
Senator Yari said the endorsement was in recognition of President Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring continuity, peace, and progress in Nigeria.
“President Tinubu is a leader who listens to advice and has a clear plan for the country’s development. He has assured that food prices will continue to drop, and fertilizer will be made available in abundance this year,” Yari stated.

Although the Minister of State for Defence and immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, was absent due to his ongoing lesser Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, he however addressed the gathering via a live phone call.
Matawalle expressed his full support for the endorsement, describing it as long overdue.
The motion for the endorsement was moved by Senator Sahabi Ya’u (Zamfara North) and seconded by Abdulmalik Zubairu, member representing Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Both lawmakers were invited by Senator Yari to present the motion on behalf of the party stakeholders.

At the end of the meeting, all stakeholders unanimously endorsed and confirmed President Tinubu as the APC’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
In his remarks, the state APC chairman, Tukur Umar Danfulani, said the meeting was convened to review the party’s progress and challenges and to chart a path for greater success.
He described the APC in Zamfara as “a formidable and united party” that remains committed to supporting President Tinubu’s policies and programmes.

Several other party leaders, including former Deputy Governors Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad and Muktar Ahmad Anka; Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha; Senator Sahabi Alhaji Ya’u; Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura; and Muktar Shehu Idris, emphasized the need for unity, which they described as the foundation of political success.
They expressed confidence that Zamfara remains an APC stronghold and vowed that the party would reclaim the state in the 2027 elections.
The meeting, which drew thousands of party loyalists, was attended by several dignitaries, including Alhaji Suleiman Abubakar Gummi, Abba Ahmad Sani, Isah Muhammad Anka, Ambassador Abubakar Hussaini Moriki, Muttaka Muhammad Rini, and Abdullahi Abdulkarim Tsafe.

Also in attendance were the Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Hassan Marafa Damri; State Secretary, Hon. Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima; Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau; Welfare Secretary, Bashir Idris Ataka; Legal Adviser, Barrister Ibrahim Aliyu Ajiya; Youth Leader, Musa Idris Ardo; and other state executives.
Other notable attendees included former Secretary to the State Government Kabiru Balarabe, former Head of Service Alhaji Kabiru Mohammed Gayari, former Chief of Staff Ibrahim Suleiman, former Speakers of the State House of Assembly, former senators, members of the National and State Assemblies, commissioners, special advisers, directors general, and several other prominent APC stakeholders.
