The Jigawa State Senior Secondary Education Board has commenced unscheduled visits to secondary schools to reinforce quality assurance and improve teaching and learning standards across the state.
Executive Chairman of the Board, Dr. Abubakar Sabo Yushau, led a monitoring visit to Government Day Secondary School, Sindimina in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.
He interacted with the principal, teachers and students while assessing academic performance and the condition of school facilities.
Dr. Yushau said the exercise aims to strengthen monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to ensure all schools adhere to government policies and educational standards.
He expressed satisfaction with the general level of commitment from staff and students, noting that minor challenges identified would be addressed promptly.

In a related development, a team led by Permanent Member One of the Board, Malam Abdullahi Hudu, visited several senior secondary schools in the Kazaure zone.
Hudu commended the dedication of many teachers and school administrators but warned against negligence and absenteeism.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the absence of staff at Government Day Secondary School Dandi after 9 a.m., directing the principal and teachers to report to the board for further action.
The team inspected classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices and hostels in GDSS Dandi, GDSS Gada, GGUSS Kazaure, GUSS Roni, GGDSS Roni and GDSS Dansure.
Hudu emphasized the board’s commitment to improving teacher welfare, capacity building and the provision of instructional materials to enhance effective teaching.
He said the visitation programme will continue periodically to strengthen supervision, accountability and service delivery across the education sector.
Principals of the schools visited expressed appreciation, describing the visits as timely and motivating, while pledging continued cooperation to raise academic standards.
